F1 Models, one of the top hobby shops in South Africa, are based in Menlyn Park Shopping
Centre and the Kolonade. They have seen a growing interest in a wide variety of hobbies -
they aim to ensure that hobbyists nationwide, young or old, fanatics or beginners are given
the opportunity to explore the world of hobby.
Challenge
F1 Models desperately needed an online presence with shopping functionality. They did not have an
existing website nor any experience with websites or the internet and needed a solution which was
not too costly and which could be maintained by a non-technical staff member.
Solution
F1 Models deployed Morphogine Business Edition with the E-commerce and SMS add-ons and also requested a custom website skin.
Morphogine includes all the systems required to manage a successful website such as a content
management system (CMS), customer relationship management system (CRM), link management system and a photo
editing system.
They went online with a product database and photos of 1800+ items, which was imported into their new
website within a few minutes using Morphogine.
F1 Models did not have to create any web pages – Morphogine automatically rescaled the product photos, generated
the website pages and links needed to display the products on the website, and uploaded them all to Morphogine’s web
servers.
They then added some additional content to the website using the page / article editor included in the software – the
editor allowed them to construct their pages visually and did not require any programming.
Once the shopping functionality was enabled, they were ready to sell – they could control the whole process, from the
addition of new products to the processing of orders and shipping.
The E-commerce add-on includes an e-commerce management system, stock management system, shipping management system and
reporting system. The SMS add-on enhances the CRM system by adding SMS capabilities.
Morphogine includes modules like message forums, voting polls, calendars, photo galleries, product catalogues
and website search which can all be configured and managed at any time.
