Morphogine has been an answer to a number of needs, as far as developing
the Sparrow website was concerned. Firstly, sustainability: it's good to
know there is an infrastructure in place supported by established business.
We didn't have to worry about support and upgrades drying up in the future.
Secondly, support; This has proven to be present, friendly and
service-intelligent. There's nothing worse than buying into a product only
to find that there is no one around to answer your on-the-job questions. I
am impressed with the high importance placed on customer interaction for
both the betterment of the product and the acceleration of the user's
experience into fulfilling his or her goals for the site.
Thirdly, affordability; due to it's user-friendly nature- expensive
web-design experts are not necessary for much more than just a basic site.
Someone with simple computer handling skills and a minimal creativity can
manage the site - thereby cutting costly maintenance.
Further to Morphogine's usability; one must point out that with a
reasonable internet connection speed and good planning, time does not have
to be a handicap. Although the menu's are unique in concept, once learnt,
are easy to use and simplify the process of maintaining one's files.
Regarding training; I had what amounted to two lessons; one two hours in
length and another half hour to help with all those queries one accumulates
when learning a new programme.
Using Morphogine to design the Sparrow website was a wise move and one that
can be highly recommended to other schools. Morphogine was designed with
schools in mind, it certainly has many features that schools would normally
have to put some lengthy design time into. Regardless of this the
programme remains sufficiently flexible to build a site quite unlike a
conventional school site should one wish to deviate from the norm.
Morphogine exceeded my expectations and I am looking forward to an excuse
to design another website using it.
